I had heard that Cyrus had gotten rid of the ridiculous phone act. My issue with Cyrus was the disparity between relatively good product versus the media hype, especially for the price. The chef from Komi, one of my favorite restaurants, told me when I was there last that he was likewise under-impressed with Cyrus during his recent visit to the San Francisco Bay Area. I'm curious to hear what you will think of Alinea-- personally, I prefer delicious to fascinating but Chef Achatz is certainly one to watch on the restaurant scene. Apparently at one point there was a discussion of possibly opening a branch of Alinea in the Time Warner Center in NYC, where Per Se and Masa are located. We were at Cyrus last weekend and our experienced mirrored yours (except they have done away with the foolish white phone), and I could not be more pleased. Why do so many solicitors hate their job? Are you in SF? We have a booking at Alinea (Chicago) later this month and am excited about it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
